Handheld & Portable XRF

Handheld X-ray fluorescent (XRF) analyzers have the capability to quantify or qualify nearly any element from Magnesium to Uranium, depending on specific instrument configurations.

The highend Bruker handheld XRF, Tracer 5 series analyzers are equipped with complete user control feature and is capable of detecting element from Fluorine to Uranium, depending on the specific instument configurations.

Portable XRF spectrometers allow you to take the battery operated analyzer to the sample rather than bringing the sample into the lab. This is especially useful when the test specimen is large and heavy, or needs to be analyzed in-situ.

S1 TITAN
Handheld XRF Spectrometer

The S1 TITAN is among the lightest (1.5 kg, including battery) tube-based handheld XRF analyzers on the market today. Fast analysis speed and exceptional accuracy are two key attributes that help define the S1 TITAN.

Other innovative features include an integrated touch-screen color display, 50 kV X-ray tube, SMART GradeTM timing, SharpBeamTM optimized X-ray geometry, New Graphene Window Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) means 2 times faster light element measurement, and an extremely tough housing that is sealed against humid and dusty environments.

The S1 TITAN HHXRF series is available in three configurations: models 800, 500 and 500S. All models use the latest graphene window SDD detector technology which enables faster light element analysis. The S1 TITAN 800 use a large area detector to give you incredibly fast analysis times. The S1 TITAN 500 and 500S are configured with a fast and accurate standard SDD detector. All models are equipped with TITAN Detector Shield which provides a guaranteed detector protection. In addition, the S1 TITAN can be configured with calibrations that are optimized for a variety of sample materials- including a wide range of alloys, metal coatings, various mining & environmental samples, as well as restricted materials.

SharpBeamTM technology
The S1 TITAN’s patented SharpBeamTM technology optimizes the detector and tube geometry. The optimized geometry has many desirable effects, including:
  • Reduces power requirements
  • Reduces weight
  • Improves measurement precision
  • Improved detection limits
  • Increases battery life
TITAN Detector Shield - The ultimate defense against punctured detectors- GUARANTEED!
  • Do you analyze metal turning or fine wires with your XRF gun?
  • Have you ever punctured your XRF gun’s detector?

Then you know that the cost to repair a detector can range from $7,000 to $10,000…plus potential down-time. The TITAN Detector Shield can minimize these risks!

TRACER 5 Series
TRACER 5 family of portable XRF spectrometers

Handheld XRF for cutting-edge researchers
The TRACER 5 pXRF spectrometer; ideal for Methods Development, Research and Complex Materials.

Complete user control
The TRACER 5 allows complete user control of the excitation conditions. These can be developed using recommended settings in the software or user preferences.
  • Current
  • Voltage
  • Automated filter
  • Manual filter
  • Sample spot size
  • Vacuum, Helium or air
The TRACER 5 settings and measurements can be controlled on the handheld or with Artax™ advanced spectral analysis PC software, via WiFi or USB.
Matrix Matched Calibrations
Users can also develop their own calibrations with EasyCal PC software for empirical correlations. These can be transferred to the TRACER 5 for point-and-shoot tests. Moreover, as the calibration is revised and improved, previously collected data can be recalculated with no need to remeasure samples.

CTX Series
CounterTop Portable XRF

The portable Counter Top XRF (CTX) is small, light-weight, safety-interlocked, and battery operated. At less than 7 kilograms in weight, the self-contained CTX is truly portable, and has a small footprint of 14 cm in width. The CTX is all about high performance EDXRF in a small, lightweight and sleek, portable configuration. The durable stainless steel body withstands all environmental conditions and is easy to clean. The CTX fits securely into its standard Pelican case and optional protective backpack. All user operation is through a front panel touchscreen display or an optional PC via Wi-Fi or USB. Connections are within easy reach under the display. Samples can be placed as-is inside a safety chamber with ample room or in sample cups, baggies or other containers.

The CTX uses a 4W X-ray source featuring Bruker's patented SharpBeam™ optimized X-ray geometry, a high-performance silicon drift detector (SDD) with Bruker’s patented DetectorShield™, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth® and USB connectivity. The CTX’s touchscreen user-interface provides measurement control and results display. Additionally, Bruker’s Toolbox PC software enables full remote operation of the CTX and optional PC software includes Bruker’s Artax™ for advanced qualitative, semi-quantitative composition analysis, as well as EasyCal™ for user-defined empirical correlations.

The CTX is specifically designed for applications which require sample preparation and/or sample presentation in a cup or bag, as well as for small samples and samples which require measurement times of more than a few seconds.

While the CTX was primarily designed for deployment in mobile and field labs, it is also well suited to central labs and on the factory floor for quick pre-screening or routine analysis, and as a back-up for larger XRF or ICP/AA systems.
